CBD is a family business that is operated by Mr. Ravi Thambiayah (the Chairman), his daughter Niruja Thambiayah (the Managing Director) and a vey capable board of directors.
Cargo Boat Development Company PLC is an associate company of the Renuka Hotels group and is led by several of the same directors. Cargo Boat Development Company PLC has owned the land at 41, Janadhipathi Mawatha, Colombo 01 since 1980. The landmark building in Fort (now known as the CBD Business Centre) was built in 1983 and was one of the first high rises in Fort Colombo 1.
